Reader Request – Yea yea, we’re late
November 1st, 2007 - by Eddie
I know. Wednesdays are supposed to be Reader Request days. Well it was Halloween. It was my birthday. I got a Nintendo Wii and all my previous responsibilities went out the window (did I mention I got Guitar Hero III? Perhaps a video will have to be made of my mad, color-button pushing skills. I almost have Foghat down).
So, appropriately enough, what is the longest time you’ve waited for the main act of a concert to hit the stage? And has waiting an extended period of time ruined your buzz?
And since we made you wait an extra day, let’s make this even more interesting. What do you think the band is doing backstage while the crowd is yelling for them?
I know the truth is probably something mundane and ordinary, but I like to believe they are lighting things on fire, throwing food on the wall and prank-calling Elton John. At least, that’s what I would do…

I’d bet BIG money that bands are playing WII tennis and if i was them, i’d make you wait too.

That’s a really good point. I’d even watch a band play Wii tennis on stage.

They may very well be playing Guitar Hero, and trying to stop being worse at it than people who don’t know how to play guitar… everyone knows that knowing how to play guitar is severely detrimental to Guitar Hero skills.
I went to the Drive-By Truckers show on Oct. 25, they got onstage in a timely manner but they made the crowd wait like 20 minutes for the encore. Everyone was literally too tired to clap anymore by the time they came back out.
