Tours of Note: Drive-By Truckers
December 17th, 2007 - by Eddie
There’s some big news that was announced late last week (Friday) about one of my favorite bands, Drive-By Truckers, the alt-country group with the “three-ax attack.”
According to their Myspace page, their new album titled Brighter Than Creation’s Dark will be released on Jan. 22. Tomorrow, you’ll be able to buy the EP which will feature the following tracks:
Two Daughters and a Beautiful Wife
3 Dimes Down
The Righteous Path (you can hear this on their Myspace page, along with 2 other new songs)
The Purgatory Line
If you buy the EP, you’ll be credited toward the purchase of the album next year (called the “Complete My Order Program“)
Patterson Hood also announced the dates for the band’s The Home Front World Tour.
And guess what? They are FINALLY coming to a city near me (I lived in Phoenix for 5 years and had to deal with them passing me by constantly).
If you want to catch up to society, check out last year’s A Blessing and A Curse. But if you want to hear the song that instantly made me a Truckers fan, download “The Deeper In.”

What a fantastic site! I am so excited that you have such a great grasp on the live music industry. I’ll have to check the site more often! Can’t wait for the Drive by Truckers show. Hope they play “outfit” !

I like what you posted here, very informational. I grew up in Memphis and your site brought back many fond memories. What is you favorite place to visit in Memphis? I cannot pick just one, there are so many to choose from. I always enjoyed visits to Graceland.
