Whoa…it’s been a while

Welcome back (I’m talking to you, kind reader, who was good enough to stick with the site for its week-long silence.
Dave has been insanely busy and I’ve been drunk in LA (OK, not really drunk. I was at an arts journalism fellowship for 10 days).
That said, I’m back to the grind and bring to you some news that has been wasting away in the desert landscape of my RSS feeds.
Indie rock guy Ari Hest has stolen a concept from this site. Hest has a new project called “52″ where he plans to release a new song a week. I will only be impressed if Hest puts down the guitar and starts to rap to the sound of spoons being thrown at a wall.
Also, the Police have released what they say will be the final four dates of their reunion tour (Elvis Costello has been tapped to open). Everything ends on Aug. 4 at Jones Beach in NY.
Radiohead releases some dates for its US tour. I’m looking forward to missing out on the show due to my inability to purchase tickets in advance.
I bought a digital recorder. This means the possibility of a podcast where you can hear our rants aurally. Oh yea. So give us any topics or ideas for it.

MANY artists do the 52 thing – it’s not exactly an idea one person thought of – I don’t think I’d call it a “stolen” concept from this site.

Rachel.
Yea I know…I meant that to be a little more sarcastic than it sounded. My bad. If anything, I’m happy people are jumping on the 52 van of fun. Thanks for your comment.
