SXSW Bands We Know: Jon Foreman
March 7th, 2008 - by Eddie

I know. It’s the guy from Switchfoot, that band who sings the songs that get stuck in your head for days. The thing is, Jon Foreman has been embarking on an interesting musical experiment. He’s releasing albums inspired by seasons. The first was dubbed “Fall” (with the running theme of things coming apart, beginning to end…you get the idea) and the second was “Winter” (death in all its metaphorical forms).
Here’s the thing. They’re pretty good. They are simple albums, with mainly just Foreman and a guitar…but they aren’t horrible. Nor are they catchy. You almost forget he’s the guy singing “Dare You to Move” in the dark corners of your mind.
So file this under surprising…
Catch the Foreman on Friday, March 14, 10pm at Pangaea ( 409 Colorado Street)
