Tours of Note: Stone. Temple. Pilots.
April 3rd, 2008 - by Eddie

Apparently, it’s time to get back on heroin.
The 90’s grunge band Stone Tempe Pilots have announced a summer tour and possibly more (their website states that the band returns on April 7).
I remember when I was a kid and I heard about random bands getting back together and thinking “Who the fuck are they?” Even back then, I knew it was all for the sweet dolla dolla bill y’all.
Truthfully, I am excited to hear some of the old favorites from this band like “Plush,” “Creep,” and “Sex Type Thing.”
But it’s hard to ignore that this comes on the heels of Scott Weiland getting tossed from Velvet Revolver. Is this a form of revenge? Will there be a thunderdome fight between STP and VR? Or did Weiland take enough drugs to mentally travel back in time (a la “Lost”) to 1994 when they still had fans?
Anyway, here are the tour dates. If you live in these towns and can’t make the show, you may be able to catch Weiland in your local jail.

Obviously you are not a fan of STP past or present. I can’t argue nor would I the number of jokes my friends and I had about Scott’s drug issues when it took almost an hour and a half between acts for them to come out. But my tune changed the minute they hit the stage and started with Big Empty. The band is definately older but you can tell they truly enjoyed playing with eachother again. The Pearl in Vegas is an ideal place to see a show since the farthest seat is only 120ft from the stage. STP absolutely rocked and played to the crowd and with the crowd more than any band I’ve ever seen. If you have ever been a fan of STP then you should try and catch the Reunion Tour because you will not be dissapointed.

Apparently Scott Weiland invented drug addiction. Or maybe drug addiction should be the first thing that should pop into our minds when we listen to Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Blind Melon, or Alice in Chains and not music. Or maybe we should think that real artists aren’t driven to reunite for money, bands like the eagles, the pixies, pink floyd, motley crue or the sex pistols are just too real for that. Or maybe Scott Weiland is simply just continuing his life and showing up for work as a way to put Velvet Revolver in their place.
Or maybe you’re a douche. It’s all up in the air, really.

hahahaha! LOLZ! that is teh best thing i’ve ever read!!!!!11 i was looking for information or a review of the band but instead got a bunch of jokes about the singers history of drug abuse! how original. U R so funny and smart eddie. ROFL.
but you forgot to say about how they are a pearl jam ripoff. Everybody knows that if you want to pretend to be a journalist and write about STP, you have to pass off other journalists call them a pearl jam ripoff. if u only make jokes about scott’s drug use (which is totally his fault, there’s no such thing as chemical dependencie lolz) then you don’t seem professional.

Wow your an idiot. First off you’ve showed how much of an idiot you are by labeling them as grunge. Maybe if you weren’t so ignorant you would know STP was in the works long before VR ended. God dam I hope your the one who ends up in jail with a big fat STD positive dick in your ass. Douche.

STP fans suddenly coming out of the woodwork? Or did Scott just post 6 different times?
It isn’t Scott Weiland’s fault that heroin is addictive. It is his fault that he did heroin in the first place.
STP was/is 100% grunge.
Drug addiction is the first thing that pops into my mind when I think about Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and many other bands whose members were tragically addicted to hard drugs. It doesn’t interfere with my enjoyment of the music. (P.S., heroin didn’t kill Kurt Cobain.)

well, there weren’t any “Eddie” fans around to praise this article(wonder why?)… so i guess we felt compelled to share some opinions.
My opinion is that you don’t know what grunge is or isn’t, granted there are some grungy type songs on the first 2 STP cd’s, but have you ever listened to the other 3? i’m guessing not - personally i don’t give a rat’s ass if you do or not, but if you want to label a band you probably ought to make sure your decisions are informed from now on.
as for scott and heroin, yes he has problems & nobody’s perfect, but the guy can sing, write lyrics & put on a hell of a show.

Fuck you Eddie, you obviously don’t know anything about STP, they’re selling out venues nationwide and performing killer shows while you sit here on your stupid little blog.
